ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE COMPONENT
The City of Vallejo is currently updating its General Plan to include Environmental Justice policies required by California’s SB 1000 – the Planning for Healthy Communities Act.
This process will help shape how the city addresses pollution, housing conditions, transportation, food access, and neighborhood health.

TAKE THE EJ SURVEY

The survey is confidential and does not collect identifying information.
WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW
The City of Vallejo has released Draft Environmental Justice Amendments to the Vallejo General Plan 2040.
These amendments were created in response to SB 1000, which requires cities to:
- identify disadvantaged communities
- reduce exposure to environmental hazards
- improve public health outcomes
- ensure equitable access to resources like parks, food, and transportation
Using CalEnviroScreen data, the City identified 10 census tracts in Vallejo that experience disproportionate environmental burdens.
Community feedback during this public review period will help shape the final Environmental Justice policies.
Public Review Period:
March 6 – April 20, 2026
